Hi! I stumbled on your blog while researching about additional benefits for my son with autism. We are from Manila and we already got my son’s PWD ID and purchase booklet. But I think not all establishments know that there is such a benefit for PWDs already. We still need to be ready with a copy of the laws when we want to use it. Also from some friends from our support group, they said that in their area, they can apply for the ID only but there’s no available purchase booklet yet so they still can’t use and avail of the discounts becoz the purchase booklet is needed. Hope this problem can be addressed by our government.

I love it. I hope there will be more films about the deaf youths, it helps them be more known to the society and people will get to learn more from them and even get more friendly to them and back. ;D I met these group in 2007,I mean rome´s group and I fell in love with them, the way they talk to each other, it´s very different from those normal. I htink they speak more heartily. I was surprised with this movie, that someone could relate to them, I wish them best and that they´d get most jobs they want and fulfill dreams. Mabuhay ka Mike. ; )

I understand you. I also don’t like the word deaf-mute. But I only quoted the news article so I don’t want to change any content of the news. But if you look at my own paragraphs, I wrote “deaf”.

hi! i’m currently a student at the UST Graduate school, and i’m doing a research on the work experiences of the deaf with local companies — whther or not they were treated fairly, and on the perspective of the business sector on the employment of the deaf. I found this site, and i’m hopeful that you could enlighten me more on the topic.

If there are other deaf who are willing to share their experinces, please email me. My husband, Gerald is also deaf, and was a graduate of psd and miriam college. I am hearing, and i’m doing this study to promote awareness on disability employment on the part of the employer, and also to show that the deaf are in fact, and also in my experience, more productive and focused with their work, once given the opportunity.

My study aims to lessen descrimination on the part of the deaf, and hopefully increase awareness, especially in employment and the business sectors….

I’m also doing a business plan that focuses on the deaf, and if anyone would like to help, or know someone who can help me, please email me and send me your numbers, i will get in touch with you personally… thank you!!!
