To all my blog readers, may I again promote to you another event? This is a deaf pantomine show entitled “Laugh to Sawa” presented by Philippine Federation of the Deaf (PFD). It features Deaf Pantomine Duo from Japan. The event will be held on November 23, 7:00 pm at Girls Scout of the Philippines Auditorium, Padre Faura St., Manila.
Tickets are priced at Php300 for regular patrons and Php250 for students and senior citizens. For details, please contact PFD at Cell Nos. 639274038348 (Racquel), 639277947747 (Julius) or email them at email@example.com. PFD’s past president, deaf coordinator of CAP College School for the Deaf and one of my closest friends and brother in Christ, Pastor Julius Andrada went to MCCID to personally invite us. He also requested us to promote the event. Our school promised to support this worthwhile activity.
Here is the message of appeal posted by PFD’s current president Ms. Racquel Corpuz addressed to members of this_able_phils Yahoo Group.
The Philippine Federation of the Deaf, financially struggling to maintain its operation, will be holding a Fund Raising Show with title “Laugh-to Sawa, Deaf Pantomime Show” slated on November 23, 5:00pm at Girl Scouts of the Philippines Auditorium in Padre Faura St. Manila, for the benefit of PFD to defray the cost of office rent and to maintain the day to day operation in serving the Deaf community and representation in the society especially in the government functions, monitoring and protecting the human rights of Filipino Deaf. The Filipino Deaf Women Health & Crisis Center also housed at PFD office.
Due to lack of project to sustain the office rent we are in danger of losing office or shelter…the only source of PFD fund is selling the Filipino Sign Language, Part 2 Book. But this not enough for monthly rent. By watching our forthcoming show your paid tickets proceed to the maintaining PFD operation.
The Two Deaf Japanese Mime Artists will voluntary offered their help. They shouldered their own airfares and accommodation. There will be mime workshop for Filipino Deaf on the 24th November, 2008.
I’m voluntarily working as sole staff and caretaker of PFD to keep its door open for service.
Attached is the poster of mime and some pictures of our meaningful activities.
Donation are welcome. Hope to see you on the event.
Maraming salamat po! (Thank you very much.)

Guys, please support all of the activities of Philippine Federation of the Deaf. They took off in 1997 from what was left by Philippine Association of the Deaf which became inactive many years ago. Now, PFD is the only national organization that represents and services the concerns of Filipino Deaf. 🙂
Bro. Julius reiterated that proceeds of this show will fund for PFD’s survival. I wonder if the organizers of the recent docu-film presented at UP Theater at least offered a token amount to the federation for their active participation and support of the movie? hmmm….
